Frequently asked questions

Everything parents and educators want to know about helping a kid start a real, safe, and fun first business.

What age is Little Leaders Launchpad for?+

It is designed for kids ages 8 to 12. Younger kids can do it with a parent's help, and older kids who are new to business get a lot out of it too. Every activity is written in kid-friendly language with room to write, draw, and plan.

Do kids really make money with this, or is it just pretend?+

It is built around real businesses kids can actually start, like dog walking, slime, stickers, baking, and car washing. The book walks them from picking an idea to pricing it, branding it, and making a real first sale. The money is real, and so are the skills.

Is it legal for a kid to start a business?+

Yes, kids can run small businesses, but there are limits. Children generally cannot sign contracts or open their own bank or payment accounts, so a parent holds any account, supervises online activity, and handles money platforms. Local rules for things like food sales or permits vary, so check your area. The kid does the work and learns the skills while a parent provides the legal and safety wrapper.

How much does it cost to start a kid business?+

Many ideas cost almost nothing. Service businesses like dog walking, car washing, and tutoring need little more than a willing kid. Craft businesses like painted rocks, bracelets, or bookmarks can start for under fifteen dollars. The book teaches the 2x cost rule so kids price for profit from day one.

What is the Founder Quiz?+

It is a free two-minute quiz that reads your child's personality and sorts them into one of four founder types: Maker, Helper, Storyteller, or Strategist. Then it recommends the specific businesses they are most likely to enjoy and finish. It is the easiest way to pick a first idea.

What are the 50 business guides?+

Each guide is a complete, step-by-step playbook for one specific business, covering supplies, pricing math, safety, marketing, and a first-sale plan written for kids. There are 50 of them, from slime and stickers to photography and coding. Every guide has a free preview so you can see exactly what is inside before buying.

Are the guides safe for children?+

Yes. Every guide includes a safety section and a parent section, and the online ideas are built around a parent owning the account and supervising. We follow children's privacy best practices and only collect a parent or adult email, never a child's personal information.

How do I get the book?+

The paperback is available on Amazon, and the free starter worksheets are available right here on the site so you can try it first. Links to both are on the Get the Book page.

Can I use this in a classroom or homeschool group?+

Absolutely. It works as a low-prep entrepreneurship unit that ties into math, writing, and art, with built-in safety contracts and assessment-friendly structure. Classroom packs and bulk pricing are available for educators and groups on the Schools page.

How much money can a kid realistically make?+

It varies by business and effort, but a motivated kid running a weekend service often earns twenty to sixty dollars a week, and a craft seller at a few markets can clear fifty to a hundred and fifty dollars in profit. The bigger return is the lasting skills: pricing, confidence, and persistence.
